Goals
Goal 1:
-
I will travel across some of the state to achieve an understanding of the vast physical and geographic differences of our country.
-
I was able to achieve this goal because in every state I went to saw a variety of different landscapes, from deserts, lakes, rivers, rolling hills, flat fields, and more.
Goal 2:
-
I will plan the entire trip to achieve a skill of planning and learning to choose places that will benefit my education.
-
I was only partially able to complete this goal because while we were on the road trip we made last minute adjustments, such as taking destinations out, using less freeway routes and more two lane highways/backroads, and using cheaper hotels that were not planned. I was able to complete 90% of the goal, considering the changes made were still beneficial to the road trip and the experience.
Goal 3:
-
I will take a friend with me on the road trip to learn about the importance of teamwork.
-
I was able to achieve this goal, because my friend and I reviewed the itinerary before leaving for our trip and made decisions together as we traveled.
Outcomes
Outcome 1:
By completing my road trip, I know more now about these states than I could have by reading about their geography than I could have read about them. The benefit of this outcome is I have first-hand experience when I need to teach.
Outcome 2:
By completing the planning goal, I made an itinerary happen for my friend and myself. The benefit of this outcome is that we had a written and digital plan of where we needed to be by what time.
Outcome 3:
By using teamwork, my friend and I made decisions together about routes, food, and sleeping arrangements. The benefit of this outcome is that we compromised on a lot of decisions.
